Online Forum: A Love Letter To Men

“A Celebration of Men’s Mental Wellness”

[Edmonton, AB]: We are excited to announce the first annual virtual Men’s Health Forum from February 7, 2022 – February 10, 2022. Each daily session will run from 18:30 – 21:00 and will involve individual presenters and panel members engaging a wide variety of topics related to men’s mental health and wellness.

This forum has been created to bring together a community of men as well as those who work in fields supporting men’s wellness. Our objective is to bring together men from all walks of life to discuss the full spectrum of mental health and its impacts on society. We aim to provide resources, share best practices, and invite community insights on where there are currently gaps in support for men’s mental health and well-being as well as how these gaps could be addressed.

“I’m incredibly excited to see this collaboration come to life. This event will provide a strengths based approach to supporting men in the community” says Lahn Jones, Project Coordinator at Living Hope: A Community Plan to Prevent Suicide in Edmonton..

“While we acknowledge the position of privilege that men hold it is also important to recognize the challenges societal norms place on men and their mental health. I’m thrilled to be helping to host this year’s event.” Mike Cameron, Speaker, Executive Coach and Men’s Health advocate

“It is a privilege to be exposed to the wealth of information and knowledge. It however only makes a difference if we as men put the information and knowledge into practice” Joseph Luri at the Edmonton Mennonite Center for Newcomers.

This virtual forum is free to all registrants and is supported by Living Hope. For more information please visit http://collaborative.men

About Living Hope:
Living Hope is the Edmonton community’s collective response to suicide – a reflection of our combined determination to translate intention into action. Living Hope was developed by a committee of dedicated organizations and individuals who believe that suicide can be prevented in our city.

About The Alberta Men’s Collaborative
The newly formed Alberta Men’s Collaborative has been created to provide a central hub for all things related to men’s wellness. We recognize that many initiatives, programs and organizations often end up working in isolation and our aim is to change that.

Mission: To actively explore, consolidate, and promote evidence-informed best and promising practices that support the health and well-being of those who identify as men.

Vision: Our vision is a world where those who identify as men feel safe to integrate versions of masculinity that build on the strengths of traditional values while allowing for a full expression of all parts of themselves.
